About the Book

My Thoughts

I was excited to read this novel. Newer authors to Christian fiction I always get excited about because it is like discovering a new world. You never know how their writing style might be or the characters they develop. I am also really picky when it comes to contemporary novels so I really wasn't sure what to expect on this one. I'll be honest in saying the first few chapters moved a bit slow. Of course the story is fairly well predictable but about half way through I really started to enjoy the characters. Tari did an excellent job with all of her characters, even the secondary ones! It had a very small town "Gilmore Girl" vibe while weaving together a lot of real life things. I also enjoyed the fact that Hannah and Luke had been friends for a long time. I love reading friendships, whether they become romantically involved or not. Speaking of romance though I thought it was spot on with this story. Not over the top, not rushed, and not the only thing that is written about in the story. This book reminded me a little of Susan May Warren's novels.
There were a few things that had me on the edge on how to rate this story but I really couldn't put it down so I had to go with five stars. I am eager to get my hands on the next book in this series!!!
