Buzzwords or Phrases That Make Me Want to Read (or Avoid) a Book

Today's Top Ten Tuesday Topic is "Buzzwords or Phrases That Make Me Want to Read (or Avoid) a Book"

I came up with a few from both sides that are instant buzzwords that usually trigger something either positive or negative. I DO appreciate how it has become popular to post these types of things with the book cover so the reader has a better idea of what is in the story. It has helped me avoid some books and actually want to read others. What do you think? Do you agree? Would you rather go in blind?

I am eager to read what others have to say on this topic today.

I never have read an Amish novel, but maybe that's because I'm in Europe and we don't have an Amish community overhere. So Amish literature is not translated and being published here. However, it will put me off as well.

I dislike books that have affairs and cheating as the main point of the story. If it's a side plot, then I tend to be ok with it.

I do enjoy a good Amish fiction book, but perhaps that's because I know there will be no spice. That is something I'm not a fan of. You're list of things you like would be the same as mine, except for Gothic.

I HAVE read some decent Amish fiction but it has to be an author I trust. I hadn't considered your market to not have Amish fiction. Thank you for sharing!

I'm with you on almost all of these. I don't mind an amnesia story as long as it's done well. Same with Amish ones. I've read some I've really enjoyed.

Happy TTT (on a Wednesday)!

I recently read one with this in it and I was stressed out reading it the entire time as it was the main plot. It wasn't written in a positive light but I struggled!

Oh that is a good point with Amish! I have read some I did enjoy, it is just rare. :)
