Ava Enters the Group Chat

About the Book

Wrong Number. Right Guy. One Big Secret.

When Ava, a giraffe keeper who wants nothing to do with fame, is accidentally added to a group chat of men she assumes are coworkers, she plans to quietly leave. Instead, she stays--and quickly becomes part of the easy banter and unexpected friendship.

What she doesn't realize? The chat is made up of a pro football team. Including Hudson--the quarterback she already turned down in real life because his very public career is exactly what she's trying to avoid.

As Ava and Hudson start talking privately, real feelings begin to grow. But when Hudson realizes who she is, he makes a risky he won't tell her the truth just yet. First, he'll prove he's more than the spotlight.

Now, with crossed paths, growing chemistry, and a secret that won't stay hidden forever, Hudson risks losing the one woman who never cared about his fame in the first place. (Goodreads)

My Thoughts

I have enjoyed many books by this author so I was excited to dive into this new one! It is very unique in the setting and I thought Ava to be a quirky layered character that brought a lot to the story. The first couple of chapters are hilarious and really draw the reader into this rom com type plot. So I really loved the first part of the book, but the second half just seemed to drag out a bit. But there are some really fun secondary characters that I loved and the group chat conversations were well written and entertaining. The ending took a slight turn I wasn't expecting and I really actually liked that a lot. So overall this is a fun read that will probably make you smile. It isn't my favorite by this author but still an enjoyable read.

Three Stars.
