My Review
Ruth Axtell has been a favorite author of mine, even with her earliest work. While regency romance and history is all the rage these days, Ruth has been writing about this time period for awhile. Honestly, there are only so many regency books I can read before they are all the same. This book was a huge disappointment for me. I wish I could say otherwise but the characters didn't have a depth and the storyline was very predictable. Don't get me wrong, predictable books can be really good, but this one was just lacking. I know Axtell can write wonderful rich stories so perhaps I was expecting too much from this book. I did enjoy the secondary characters and the descriptions of some of the outfits.
If you enjoy anything regency and romance you will like this book.
