About the Book
Written for boys 8 to
14, Bash and the Pirate Pig is the story of a cranky city kid named
Raymond “Beamer” Boxby who must spend summer vacation at his younger
cousin Bash Hinglehobb’s farm.
Beamer prefers air conditioning and video games. He can’t see what good can come of this so-called country fun that includes riding cows, river rafting with a pig, or playing with skunks.
But hang tight, Beamer, because Bash’s zany adventures with his "Fishin' and Farmin' book" (The Bible) just might lead to the coolest Discovery of all. (Goodreads)

My Review
What a fun book! I love reading books that have good lessons for children. This book is directed toward young boys but I think it is good for any child. The author adds humor to real life situations and spins a couch potato life into a realistic problem for kids to understand. Raymond is a couch potato and his parents insist he must spend the summer at the farm. While this book is longer, 224 pages, it is packed full of humorous farm adventures while keeping strong Christian values. The children in the book are often talking about God and relating Bible verses to their own lives.
For children 8-14 years this is a fun book!
