The Turning to Autumn

I know it's a bit early but I can feel the change in the air. Autumn has started in my hometown and I can't help but feel it has here as well. The weather is so nice, I think I have spent more time outside than inside this past week. We just finished our patio area so we have been eating outside a lot. Our yard is slowly coming together. We have been in our house for a year and a half and always have a project going. This winter I'm going to attack the basement/spare bedroom. All of the floors are just concrete and I just don't enjoy the space.

We started a new study at church and I am loving it! Many have heard of One Thousand Gifts by Ann Voskamp, it really is splendid. I am in the middle of the study and I have now read the book and it really has changed my perspective on daily life. Being thankful and always thankful to God really does change how you view things. If you haven't read it I suggest you find a copy.

I am always planning the next thing and this month it is my grandparent's 70th birthday celebration. Their birthdays are about a month apart so we are celebrating in the middle. I'm excited because we don't get together as a family too often so it should make for some good memories and family pictures.

This week has been strange for me and I've just been thinking "get through it as fast as I can". But really I shouldn't think that way, I need to get out of this glum mood. So I pick up a book and get lost in another world that I love. I see a friend and it lifts my spirit. I see my husband and get to make him dinner. I see our dog Remi greet me and I take the time to stop and pet her.
