I was not sure what to expect with this book when I got in the mail. I rarely do a ton of research on the books I receive ahead of time so I really had no idea what it was about. This is an amazing book that I could not put down. It is written beautifully and the chapters set up in an easy way to read, even with so much information. Each chapter is about a different child (or children) and their backstory up until the present. Each of them have had a difficult childhood and it breaks my heart to read about how babies and children are treated. This book flows nicely and is written in a way that you understand the children's point of view and see the world through their eyes. These are real children and she includes pictures of them which I loved.

This is a great book!! Recommend to anyone who has a passion for missions, foster care, orphans, and people who aren't afraid to read the truth behind their lives.

This is the Biltmore. Wow what a place! I couldn't take pictures of the inside but it's incredible. Indoor swimming pool and bowling alley. This was well worth the drive to Asheville, North Carolina!

Nancy Herriman abandoned a career in Engineering to chase around two small children and take up the pen. She has been writing for longer than she would like to admit. Her work has been a finalist in several Romance Writers of America contests and she won the 2006 RWA Daphne du Maurier award for Best Unpublished Mystery/Romantic Suspense. In 2009, she was an ACFW Genesis finalist. She is a member of American Christian Fiction Writers and Romance Writers of America.

When she is not writing, or gabbing over lattes about writing, she is either watching history shows on cable TV or singing. She lives in the Midwest with her husband and sons, and wishes there were more hours in the day.

Josiah's Treasure by Nancy Herrimanm is a delightful read and one of my favorites of the year thus far!

 

Any story about life in during the California Gold Rush interests me. Throw in a talented artist, a money seeking young man, and a dangerous "villian" set in San Fransico and I am hooked. I enjoyed the characters, the setting, and the entire story line. It is a sweet love story between two very stubborn people. Sarah has a compassionate heart for the young women in need that fill the city. She finally has the money to fulfill her dream and take care of these women when Josiah's son shows up and changes everything. Knowing that she might lose her home, her art studio, and her dream, she pushes forward. The plot kept twisting in a new way that made it more interesting than what I was expecting. The author wrote an excellent work of fiction!

Josiah's Treasure is simply a fun light read that I definitely recommend!
