A Moonbow Night Review

 About the Book

After fleeing Virginia, Temperance Tucker and her family established an inn along the Shawnee River. It's a welcome way station for settlers and frontiersmen traveling through the wild Cumberland region of Kentucke--men like Sion Morgan, a Virginia surveyor who arrives at the inn with his crew looking for an experienced guide. When his guide appears, Sion balks. He certainly didn't expect a woman. But it is not long before he must admit that Tempe's skill in the wilderness rivals his own. Still, the tenuous tie they are forming is put to the test as they encounter danger after danger and must rely on each other.
With her signature sweeping style and ability to bring the distant past to vivid life, Laura Frantz beckons readers to join her in a land of Indian ambushes, conflicting loyalties, and a tentative love that meanders like a cool mountain stream. (Goodreads)

My Thoughts

I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Laura Frantz last summer. She is so wonderful and I adore her books. I'll be honest in saying I don't love this book cover, but that aside this story is fantastic. I loved the setting and the characters jumped out on the page. One of the main aspects of this story line is dealing with grief, and Frantz did a splendid job with this. Don't let that scare you away from reading this (it is a a dreary sad tale) it is simply something that is portrayed in the book. I think this is a book I could read again and notice things I didn't the first time. It is a captivating book.
Five stars.

I LOVE Laura Frantz! I just finished one of her books last week. I'll have to add this to my "to read" list.
