Unbridled Trust Review

About the Book

Betrayal was the last thing they wanted . . . and the one thing they needed.

Ostracized by high-profile people in her hometown and presuming she’ll never regain lost trust, Kennedy Kerner writes off her lifelong dream of turning her family’s Colorado horse ranch into an outreach for hurting children. Until the day a young girl in need lands in Kennedy’s pasture, along with the girl’s handsome uncle.

Independent computer networker Garrett Dagwood, a.k.a. Dag, is content with his loner lifestyle, distancing himself from his family and the disappointment of failing to carry on a military legacy. When his mom dies suddenly, he’s unable to ignore a request to have his niece, Lucy, live with him temporarily. It doesn’t take long, though, for Dag to rethink his decision and ability to handle Lucy’s unique needs.

Unwilling to fail, Dag enlists the help of Kennedy and her herd of rescued horses. As the two work together to support Lucy, Dag dares to trust in someone other than himself, and Kennedy learns to trust her heart again. But will an unthinkable turn of events trigger their past wounds, destroying a future they’ve just begun to hope for? (Goodreads)

My Thoughts

Oh my goodness. This book! Once I started reading I simply couldn't put it down! I was over the moon excited that this story is set in Buena Vista, Colorado because I have so many fond memories from living there. The characters are so well developed and I was surprised a few times at the twists and turns the make up this beautiful story. Kennedy and Dag are two very broken people but that is what makes this book so great. I love how neither of them has it all together and how much they both grow as you flip the pages. This story has real life perspective and hardship and doesn't hesitate in digging into the hard messy things that fill up our world. I was encouraged while reading because it is written in such a way that shows how God is truly the One in control. He has such great plans far above what we can comprehend and sometimes we get stuck and caught up in our own minds that we can't see that. I laughed and I got pretty teary eyed a few times. This story is an excellent debut novel and I can't wait to read more from this author. If you enjoy contemporary romance this book is for you!

Five Stars!
