In This Moment Review-A Must Read!

About the Book

Maggie inherited a gift from her time-crossing parents that allows her to live three separate lives in 1861, 1941, and 2001. Each night she goes to sleep in one time period and wakes up in another. Until, that is, she turns twenty-one, when she will have to forfeit two of those lives--and everyone she knows in them--forever.

In 1861, Maggie is the daughter of an influential senator at the outbreak of the Civil War, navigating a capital full of Southern spies and wounded soldiers. In 1941, she is a Navy nurse, grappling with her knowledge of the future when she's asked to join a hospital ship being sent to Pearl Harbor. And in 2001, she's a brilliant young medical student, fulfilling her dream of becoming a surgeon, yet unable to use her modern skills in her other paths.

While Maggie has sworn off romance until she makes her final choice, an intriguing man tugs at her heart in each era. The mysterious British gentleman. The prickly, demanding doctor. The charming young congressman. She's drawn to each man in different ways, only complicating the impossible decision she must make, which looms ever closer.

With so much on the line, how can Maggie choose just one life to keep and the rest to lose? (Goodreads)

My Thoughts

Oh my goodness this book! I knew this story would be amazing but I just had no idea what Gabrielle Meyer had come up with! I loved everything about this story. I loved the three timelines, they were all written so well it was easy to go back and forth. I loved characters from each timeline and the intense patience it took to wait until the very end to find out what Maggie decides. The history is completely fascinating and I learned so much even though it was all about well known historical events. The author has such a way of making history come alive. The very best part of this story is how encouraged Maggie is by knowing that God truly is in control. Her anxiety and desire to make big decisions and the frustration with her different lives hit so very close to home. The ending chapters completely blew me away and right when I thought it couldn't get any better---it did. There is hope in the waiting and the pain. Praise the Lord!

You don't have to read the first book in the series to enjoy this one, but as always I do recommend that you read both! Book three can't come soon enough!

Five Stars!

My Thoughts

I am a huge fan of Gabrielle Meyer so I am always excited to read her new stories. I admit that if I had seen this book and just went off the cover, I probably wouldn't have picked up this book. But since Gabrielle wrote it I knew it would be a good one!

While this isn't my favorite by Meyer, I did still enjoy this sweet story. Newly widowed mother Adley is a strong character and my favorite part of this book. I really liked her attitude and I thought her journey between the first and last pages added more depth than most Love Inspired books. This story holds a lot truths on forgiveness and grace.

Four Stars.

Be sure and check out all of Gabrielle Meyers books! You won't be disappointed!

When the Day Comes Review-Simply Fantastic!

About the Book

Libby has been given a powerful gift: to live one life in 1774 colonial Williamsburg and the other in 1914 Gilded Age New York City. When she falls asleep in one life, she wakes up in the other without any time passing. She has one conscious mind but two very different lives and bodies.

In colonial Williamsburg, Libby is a public printer for the House of Burgesses and the Royal Governor, trying to provide for her family and support the Patriot cause. The man she loves, Henry Montgomery, has his own secrets. As the revolution draws near, both their lives--and any hope of love--are put in jeopardy.

Libby's life in 1914 New York is filled with wealth, drawing room conversations, and bachelors. But the only work she cares about--women's suffrage--is discouraged, and her mother is intent on marrying her off to an undesirable English marquess. The growing talk of war in Europe further complicates matters and forces her to make sacrifices she never imagined.

On her twenty-first birthday, Libby must choose one path and forfeit the other forever--but how can she possibly choose when she has so much to lose in each life? (Goodreads)

My Thoughts

I am a long time fan of Gabrielle Meyer. This is her first book with Bethany House and is also one of my most anticipated reads. This story did not disappoint! It is simply one of the best books I have read this year! Two time periods of 1774 and 1914 and one woman who gets to experience both worlds. I LOVE time travel stories and this has history and romance AND a very unexpected twist. Does it get any better than that? I think not. While reading, I felt all of the emotions and about mid book I wasn't sure I wanted to know the ending. I was pretty ticked off at a character that I was sure would just ruin the entire story. Much to my delight, this story keeps you guessing and you must finish to the very last page to understand how truly talented Meyer is with her writing. She takes pain and heartache and weaves in hope and a truth that God is the author of our story.

I adored this book and I can't wait for the next book in the series.

Five stars!!

 My Thoughts

I really loved this book! I typically don't read many Love Inspired books simply because they are so short. But I will always read anything that Gabrielle Meyer writes because it is always great! This story surprised me in so many ways. I actually couldn't put this book down and it was just delightful! I loved all of the characters and especially the little girls. The setting is fun but really the two main characters just worked for me. They had depth and meaning and real conversations and life issues that made this story so much more than a short little love story. There are some really funny moments that made me laugh. There are also some very emotional type moments that make you think. I couldn't believe that Gabrielle Meyer was able to pack so many details into only a few pages. She is such a talented author and I highly recommend all of her books. This story might just be my favorite from Meyer so far!

Highly recommend!

 My Thoughts

I tend to enjoy everything that Gabrielle Meyer writes. While I prefer her historical fiction tales, I still look forward to her new contemporary books. This story is just so wintery and cozy. It is clearly written by someone who has experienced a snowy winter and I just loved the atmosphere of this book.  This is a perfect Christmas read! I enjoyed the unique plot point of a woman meeting her daughter that she gave up for adoption. I always find it interesting because I didn’t meet my birth father until I was much older, so these types of stories capture my interest.

The middle part of the book didn’t hold my attention as much but I still enjoyed the winter antics that the family experiences. I really struggled with reading the scenes that included Liv’s mother. She grated on my nerves, which was the authors point, but it still drove me nuts.

In any case if you are looking for a cozy and short read to get you in the mood for Christmas this is a great choice!

Four Stars.

My Thoughts

I have been enjoying Gabrielle's books for a few years now and I am always excited to read her latest. This story has a fun setting of Bee Tree Hill, which is a historical mansion in a town called Timber Falls. I really loved the characters in this story. With this being a shorter novel I still felt like I got to know them well. There are a lot of difficult issues brought up within the pages. Forgiveness and past regrets and healing. Also, being able to stand up for what you know is right and the importance of family. There are some great scenes with Chase and his dad and the author really showed how we can and often should act. I loved the foster parent situation and I wish it was in more stories that I read.
I really enjoyed this book and I highly recommend any of Gabrielle's books.
