Sunflower Blogger Award

The Sunflower Blogger Award
Shannah tagged me from over at Book Reviews by Shannah. I love her blog, thank you for nominating me! This is my first type of blogger award so I had a lot of fun with it!

The rules:
  1. Share 11 facts about yourself
  2. Answer the 11 questions the previous blogger asked
  3. Tag 11 bloggers and ask them 11 new questions
 Shannah's Questions for Me:

  1. Where is your favorite place to read? - Either curled up on the couch or on my bed before I go to sleep.
  2. What are you looking forward to doing this summer?- Spending a week with my family in the mountains where I grew up.
  3. Do you prefer e-books or paperback/hardback books?-Paperback books all the way!
  4. If you could meet one historical person, who would it be?-This is a really hard question because I love history. Amelia Earhart has always interested me, I want to know her story. Or any Native American-I can't imagine what they experienced!
  5. You are on a desert island. You can have wish for three things. What would they be?-I would say the Bible, my husband (are people ok : ), and peanut butter. This is always a difficult question for me.
  6. Who is your favorite fictional character of all time?-Oh this is an impossible question! I have so very many but the first that comes to mind is Michael from the book Redeeming Love.
  7. What is the greatest lesson you have learned from reading a fiction book?-To appreciate history and those who lived before us. Also, that God is bigger than our own small little world.
  8. Do you love your job?-I wouldn't say love but I like it well enough.
  9. What is your favorite quote?-"Tomorrow is always fresh with no mistakes in it yet." Anne of Green Gables. But there are so many good ones~
  10. Do you like to buy new books or are you ok with used?-Love used, it makes no difference to me.
  11. What have you learned about yourself lately?-No matter how much I plan, God is in control with the future. No matter how much I want to be in control, I clearly am not in charge. This is a constant struggle for me, I like to know what is going to happen! But I am humbled by a God who cares enough about me to tell me not to worry and that I am His!

11 Facts about myself:

Hi Michelle,
I loved reading your answers! So fun! We have a few things in common. I've been told I'm "old" for my age. I guess it comes from the fact that I would rather be at home or with family than out clubbing like a lot of 26 year old's. You got married young (congrats on three years, by the way!). I did too! I would have been married for 6 years, this year, if my first husband had lived.

Like you, I've learned that no matter how much I want to be in control, God is. That helped me greatly through the death of my husband and I have been richly blessed. I am extremely grateful for the chance to get married and have a family, again.

Thanks for your answers! :D

Michelle, I am honored that you would think of me for this Sunflower Award! I left you a note on my blog, but just wanted to say that I will do your 11 questions and facts. I don't think I can come up with 11 blogs that haven't already been nominated, so I might try something different there. Thanks so much for the honor, Michelle!
